Gradually, however, his gray tones made way for a Mediterranean colorite and clear light. This was further enhanced by a short impressionistic touch, which, together with sizzling colors would become his trademark. This painting is a perfect example of his style.<\/p>\n<p>Like so many contemporaries, Ben Viegers regularly painted rural scenes in the province of Gelderland. He lived in Nunspeet, where the landscape and the farming population were a constant source of inspiration.<\/p>\n<p>Oil on canvas. Farm on the Veluwe, problably in Nunspeet or in one of the surrounding villages.
